This is somewhat off topic from the news about the shooting, but still has something to do with it. I just thought it was an interesting observation. Don’t get me wrong, this shooting was a horrific, evil thing and it will never be justifiable in any way. Children’s lives were taken, and this is the most terrifying thing a parent or any one could ever hear of, let alone deal with.
That being said,
Everybody read this paragraph…
“You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here’s why.
It’s because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single victim of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he’ll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN’s article says that if the body count “holds up”, this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer’s face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer’s identity? None that I’ve seen yet. Because they don’t sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you’ve just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man’s name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem.”
Now, go back and re read the paragraph but just picture the man below softly narrating it as if you were watching a dramatic transition of a popular movie.
Ahhhh yes, Morgan Freeman’s most persuading and emotional narrative voice. Somehow, it makes the paragraph sound even more significant, moving, and provoking. Just by quoting this famous actor’s iconic voice for motivational narrations makes this paragraph, whoever said it, even more true.
Here’s the fact, people. Morgan Freeman never said this.
This is just another prime example of how easy it really is to cause something totally false to become viral and people to believe everything they see on the internet. While I may agree with this statement and it is hard to disagree with the seriousness of this issue, we still need to be on our guard of what we see and trust online no matter who we think says it.
According to Dr. Hutan Ashrafian, King Tut died of an early age due to epilepsy. How might the doctor know this? “Oh, it is simple,” he says. King Tut was always portrayed in statues as having somewhat of a feminine appeal to his chesty curves. Good ol’ Tut had man boobs. Still don’t see the connection here? This is how one source explains it,
The enlarged breasts, he argues, are indicative of a condition known as gynecomastia, which, when added to a host of historical and familial evidence, indicates that Tutankhamun might have suffered and eventually died from temporal lobe epilepsy.
See, it all makes sense now… May this be a warning to all you men with milkshakes. The only hope found in this is that they might bury you in a tomb with lots and lots of gold.
Apparently this big bushy bearded hairy monster doesn’t have enough sponsors. He went to UFC President Dana White asking for some more sponsors (aka I want more money boss). Unfortunately White thinks this guy is too lazy to get any more sponsors. Not sure what made him think nelson was lazy… I think it takes a lot of work to maintain such a beer belly and the long mullet. Heck, I’d sponsor him even if he is lazy. The image is hilarious. Hey go ahead and put Roy’s hairy face on my product. Everyone will want to see this guy fight. Lets get down to real fighting… Big fat boys with bushy beards getting into arguments with each other till the fists are being thrown. Bring us back to our roots, MMA. Give the man some more sponsors. Until then, Roy Nelson says, “Get in my belly!”

Paying for your parking ticket in origami pigs? Perfect. In donut boxes? Even better. Looks like the officers there had wished those boxes were actually full of donuts. “I’m paying with legal tender.” That is right buddy. I wish he had refused to unfold them and made them do it, but honestly that is just awesome. Props to him for stickin it to the man. I fully expect somebody to top this in the next week or two. Challenge Accepted? Let me know what you find.
Professor ends up bringing her sick infant into work… baby gets hungry. Hungry baby cries. Momma professor breastfeeds baby without stopping the lecture. Apparently this was mildly disturbing to some students and they reported the professor’s “breastfeed your baby at work day.” Not sure why you wouldn’t just pack a bottle… or hire a babysitter for the day?
ok gist of the story, Freshman high schooler on the football team got a concussion so he went and sat down next to his boyfriend. Oh yeah, freshman high schooler is gay and has a gay boyfriend. AND HE IS 65 YEARS OLD. They snuck a kiss and yada yada yada freshman gay high schooler is kicked off of the team.
Ok ok ok ok.. lets not get into the fact that they are gay. Who cares. whatever. BUT why is a 65 year old dating a freshman in high school?!?!?!??!?!!!!??!!!! That’s illegal. At least for heterosexual couples it is. Don’t you have to be over a certain age before your allowed to date your grandpa? This is just weird. I don’t even know.
Today, I saw a picture being passed around on facebook. Most of the shares were from the stereotypical angry black people that I know. (Excuse my bluntness… I have no racial discrimination by the way) Here is the picture:
First of all, who still thinks about the titanic? Not many people remember family members affected by that and it didn’t have an effect on our security as a nation. Then there is the attack on the World Trade Centers. I remember that day 11 years ago. It was shocking and overall a sad dark day. My mom remembers watching the second plane crash into the tower on live TV. This is extremely relatable to our life time.
Now, I fully recognize the fact that racial slavery was a humongous issue and still somewhat remains to this day. BUT on 9/11 don’t you think you could atleast just show a little respect to those that died on that day. Thousands of people died. African Americans today are not slaves anymore. It is not a risk to your race anymore either. Terrorism is though…
I don’t have any confirmed sources of this but I am assuming black people died during this attack too. I could say alot more but I feel that I would be stepping on a lot of toes if I were to keep talking even more than I already have. But please, show some respect?
These are my initial thoughts. They aren’t always thoroughly developed and might be mildly offensive. I apologize to those but this is the very nature of “my initial reaction.”
